About Erik Corona Pet Care

Helping Animals Thrive Through Nutrition, Botanical Wellness, and Compassionate Care

At Erik Corona Pet Care, we believe every animal deserves thoughtful, individualized care that supports not only longevity, but quality of life. Our mission is to bridge the gap between nutrition, botanical wellness, and collaborative veterinary care by providing evidence-informed recommendations that help pets live healthier, happier lives.

Founded by Erik Corona, CPN®, GDip VCHM, Erik Corona Pet Care was created from a passion for preventive medicine and a belief that nutrition is one of the most powerful tools available to support lifelong health. Every consultation is centered on the understanding that no two animals are alike, and every recommendation should reflect each patient's unique medical history, lifestyle, nutritional needs, and wellness goals.

We work alongside pet owners and veterinary professionals to provide individualized nutritional and botanical guidance designed to complement—not replace—the care provided by a licensed veterinarian.

Our Philosophy

We believe exceptional care begins long before illness develops.

Nutrition, environmental management, preventive wellness, and individualized support all play important roles in helping animals maintain health throughout every stage of life.

Rather than focusing on a single symptom, we evaluate the whole patient—considering diet, lifestyle, medical history, laboratory findings (when available), medications, supplements, and overall wellness. By looking at the complete picture, we can develop recommendations that are practical, safe, and tailored to each individual animal.

Our goal is simple:

To help every animal achieve the highest possible quality of life through informed nutritional guidance, responsible botanical support, and collaborative care.

Clinical Pet Nutrition

Nutrition is the foundation of health.

Whether supporting a growing puppy, managing a senior cat with chronic disease, improving digestive health, or optimizing performance in an equine athlete, proper nutrition influences nearly every body system.

Our nutritional consultations focus on individualized recommendations based on:

  • Complete dietary assessments

  • Body condition and muscle condition evaluation

  • Life stage nutrition

  • Therapeutic nutrition

  • Weight management

  • Gastrointestinal health

  • Renal and urinary support

  • Cardiac nutrition

  • Endocrine disorders

  • Dermatologic conditions

  • Cancer support

  • Recovery and rehabilitation

  • Healthy aging

  • Preventive wellness

Every nutritional recommendation is developed with the goal of supporting your veterinarian's medical treatment plan while improving long-term health outcomes.

Nutrition for All Species

While dogs and cats represent much of our work, our passion extends far beyond traditional companion animals.

We are proud to provide nutritional guidance for a diverse range of species, recognizing that each has unique biological, physiological, and dietary requirements.

Our services include nutritional support for:

  • Dogs

  • Cats

  • Horses

  • Birds

  • Rabbits

  • Guinea Pigs

  • Ferrets

  • Reptiles

  • Amphibians

  • Small Mammals

  • Exotic Companion Animals

  • Aquatic Species

Every species deserves nutritional care that respects its natural physiology and individual needs.

Integrative Botanical Medicine

Plants have supported health for thousands of years across cultures throughout the world.

Our botanical consultations thoughtfully integrate principles from:

Eastern Herbal Medicine

Traditional herbal formulations focused on restoring balance and supporting the body's natural physiological functions.

Western Herbalism

Evidence-informed botanical medicine that combines traditional European herbal knowledge with contemporary scientific understanding.

Hawaiian Natural Healing

Plant traditions that emphasize harmony between nutrition, nature, and whole-body wellness while respecting the cultural heritage and sustainability of native botanicals.

Every botanical recommendation is individualized to the patient and carefully reviewed for safety, potential interactions, and compatibility with ongoing veterinary care.

Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine (VCHM)

Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine represents one of the world's oldest continuously practiced botanical systems.

Through advanced training in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine, we incorporate traditional herbal principles into individualized wellness plans when appropriate.

Because herbal formulations require careful patient assessment and ongoing monitoring, VCHM consultations are performed in person and are designed to work alongside your primary veterinarian's treatment plan.

Diagnostic Sonography

As our practice continues to grow, we are expanding our commitment to patient care through advanced diagnostic imaging.

Diagnostic sonography allows clinicians to evaluate internal organs and body systems non-invasively, providing valuable information that supports medical decision-making and patient monitoring.

Our long-term vision is to incorporate sonography as another tool that enhances collaborative veterinary care, helping veterinary teams obtain meaningful diagnostic information while maintaining a patient-centered approach.

Collaboration is at the Heart of Everything We Do

The best outcomes happen when professionals work together.

We believe nutritionists, veterinary technicians, veterinarians, specialists, rehabilitation professionals, and pet owners all play valuable roles in an animal's healthcare journey.

Whenever appropriate, we collaborate directly with primary care veterinarians and specialists to ensure nutritional and botanical recommendations align with each patient's medical treatment plan.

Our role is to strengthen—not replace—the veterinary care your pet receives.

Looking Toward the Future

Erik Corona Pet Care was built with a simple vision:

To create a practice where science, compassion, education, and collaboration come together to improve the lives of animals.

As we continue to grow, our commitment remains the same:

  • Advancing evidence-informed clinical pet nutrition

  • Expanding access to individualized botanical wellness

  • Supporting animals of every species

  • Strengthening partnerships with veterinary professionals

  • Continuing lifelong education and professional development

  • Advocating for preventive healthcare and responsible nutrition

  • Improving quality of life for animals and the people who love them

Every consultation, every recommendation, and every conversation is guided by one purpose:

Better Care. Better Nutrition. Better Lives.

Together, we can build a healthier future for animals—one patient, one family, and one partnership at a time.
