BIOGRAPHY

Erik Corona, CPN, GDip VCHM

Erik Corona began his career in animal care in 2014, where his early exposure to integrative and naturopathic approaches sparked a deep interest in animal nutrition and whole-body health. While working alongside one of Los Angeles’ most respected animal naturopaths, Erik developed a passion for supporting animals through diet and natural therapies. However, this experience also revealed a critical gap he could not ignore the consequences of insufficient medical knowledge, inconsistent standards, and shortcuts that ultimately compromised patient outcomes.

Driven to build a stronger scientific and clinical foundation, Erik transitioned into veterinary medicine. He began working in a high-volume Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital in Los Angeles, where he spent years on overnight shifts alongside Emergency and Critical Care specialists and Exotics veterinarians in the San Fernando Valley. This environment provided intensive, hands-on exposure to acute care medicine and complex cases, shaping his understanding of disease processes, diagnostics, and evidence-based treatment.

As his career progressed, Erik expanded into multiple veterinary specialties, including Cardiology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Neurology, Dentistry, and Ophthalmology. While he developed a strong appreciation for specialty medicine, he recognized that true, long-term health begins with prevention. This realization led him to focus on foundational care nutrition, early intervention, and client education as tools to reduce emergency visits and prevent chronic disease before it develops.

In 2019, Erik joined a General Practice veterinary hospital in West Hollywood, where he worked closely with preventative medicine-focused veterinarians and refined his ability to educate clients on proactive, medically sound care. In 2022, he relocated to Seattle, Washington, where he worked at a progressive urgent care facility designed to bridge the gap between general practice and emergency medicine, providing accessible and cost-effective care. He also continued working in general practice, further strengthening his commitment to client education one of the most rewarding aspects of his work.

In 2023, Erik returned to his original passion for nutrition and holistic animal care, this time with a strong veterinary medical foundation. He earned certifications as a NAVC Nutritional Coach and Therapeutic Nutritional Coach and pursued advanced academic training through Kansas State University’s Undergraduate Diploma in Animal Nutrition and Southern Illinois University’s Animal Nutrition Certification. These programs allowed him to integrate nutritional science with clinical application.

That same year, Erik returned to emergency and specialty medicine, working with Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Neurology, and Oncology services. He also enrolled in the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies, where he pursued a Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine and a Natural Nutrition Certificate. Additionally, he completed his education through the Academy of Natural Health Sciences, earning his degree as a Clinical Pet Nutritionist.

In 2024, Erik returned to Los Angeles and joined a specialty hospital that expanded his experience to include Exotics, Nephrology, Radiology, Anesthesiology, Orthopedics, and Emergency Medicine where he continues to feel most at home. To complete his well-rounded clinical background, he later joined a rehabilitation-focused animal hospital with an emphasis on Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.

After years of experience across general practice, emergency, specialty, rehabilitation, and integrative care, Erik founded his own Nutritional Consultation Service. His mission is to bridge the gap between conventional veterinary medicine and holistic, natural animal care providing science-based, individualized nutritional support for patients while collaborating with veterinarians to improve long-term health outcomes.
